NHS Leicestershire County and Rutland (NHS LCR) exists to ensure high quality healthcare is available for the 677,900 people in the two counties. As a primary care trust, we now work in a joint 'cluster' arrangement with NHS Leicester City.

Our role also involves working on the transformation of the NHS, especially the development of the GP-led clinical commissioning groups (CCGs), who are increasingly taking on the bulk of the work of primary care trusts like ours.
