Transport in Loughborough and Hinckley

3 - 28 August 2009. Consultation now closed.

Results of the consultation - Travel and access report - Loughborough and Hinckley Hospitals

People in Loughborough and Hinckley were asked to complete a survey about transport and access to the town's community hospitals.

The survey was carried out as NHS Leicestershire County and Rutland sought to move forward with plans to improve its community hospitals and provide more hospital care locally.

Under the proposals, hospitals in Hinckley would consolidate on the site of Hinckley and Bosworth Community Hospital (previously called Sunnyside) and Loughborough's NHS walk-in centre would relocate to the hospital on Epinal Way.

When the proposals were approved in January 2009 after a public consultation and engagement period, it was on the proviso that transport and access to these hospitals would be investigated.

This detailed survey asked people how they got to the two hospital sites, whether the public transport links worked and whether more detailed information would help make public transport more accessible.
