Due Regard (Equality Analysis)

Potentially the most important part of the Equality Act 2010 is the new Public Sector Equality Duty, which came into force in April 2011.

The Duty will require Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust, Leicester City and Leicestershire County and Rutland Cluster PCT to have due regard to the need to:

i)  eliminate discrimination, harassment, victimisation and other

conduct that is unlawful under the Act
ii)  advance equality of opportunity between people who share a

protected characteristic and those who do not
iii) foster good relations between persons.

Making Fair Decisions

Due Regard (Equality Analysis) will be used as a tool to help us make fair, sound and transparent decisions that are based on a robust understanding of the needs and rights of the groups and individuals who may be affected.
