Making Equality our Business - Mainstreaming Equality, Diversity and Human Rights (EDHR) into World Class Commissioning

 

NHS Leicestershire County and Rutland has developed a five-year strategic approach to embedding and mainstreaming EDHR into its core business.

Our approach has made sure that EDHR is integrated into the ten core competencies of the world class commissioning (WCC) process and will ensure that as commissioners we are compliant with equalities legislation, which will improve EDHR in the provision of healthcare services and employment.

 

Our strategic framework sets out a five-year plan towards our overall vision. The introduction to the strategy includes the importance of EDHR to the emerging agenda of WCC, the purpose, vision, values and strategic goals that will determine the direction of travel for the whole organisation.

 

Overall EDHR strategic goals to meet the objectives and competencies of WCC under the areas of:

 

1. Leadership and governance
2. Strategic approach
3. Implementation structure
4. Engagement and involvement
5. Workforce, learning and organisational development
6. Commissioning, contracting and quality
7. Monitoring and evaluation
